This old house on Manchester Road looks as though it was once some sort of shop.

Sorry Gerald... I forgot about this.. it was a shop not long ago and sold second hand goods... it is now used by the owner as a storage space. It might look 'Stone' but that is stone cladding.. under that are bricks.. it is non the less quite an old building and 'if' of when I hear more I willupdate you...

I did laugh when I read the post Gerald..

Hi
Havnt been around for a while.
I wonder how many Manchester Roads there are, my AA street by street has 21, plus those with North South East and West added.
That house looks in sad shape, I hope the phone outside works

The same thing over here, all those small shops cannot compete with all those shopping centers poping up. It also looks like no parking and everyone wants to drive to shop, none of this walking stuff for the modern folks.
Before I saw Tom Wigleys comment, i was thinking it was false stone cladding.

Delightful picture.
Once some ones' pride and joy when the stone cladding was applied.

Now in a state of disrepair.

I wonder who the hell thought up stone cladding. I have yet to see a good example. It's a bit like woodchip paper & polystyrene tiles. A decorating no no.
